Our lunch at Tippling Club, a serial Asia’s Best 50 restaurant, was stellar. It was a creative, innovative and tasty journey that lasted 3 hours. Chef Ryan Clift has made sure every step of the way was filled with fun, playful and surprising elements.
Finding the ultimate burger is a never ending quest. One that I stick by even when in remote destinations that aren’t often associated with burgers. Such is the case with our visit to Hong Kong. Opened in 2014 in Wan Chai, The Butchers Club Burger prides itself on using premium meat and serving a limited menu of burger, beer and bourbon. It’s considered to be one of the best in the country and was even included in Michelin Guide 2016 and 2017.
In Neve Tzedek, one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of TLV, is Meshek Barzilay. The restaurant offers an organic, mostly vegan, menu. It operates around the clock and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also have a rotating seasonal specials menu and in addition host cooking workshops.
South Korea, the nation of Kimchi has turned in recent years to a nation of coffee shops. In a city with more than 17,000 coffee shops (source: reuters), it’s not surprising that some of them are among the most extraordinary and bizarre themed cafe joints in the world! Korean themed cafes include ring making cafe, cat, dog and even sheep cafe, Hello Kitty themed cafe, Lego Cafe, selfie cafe and a photo studio cafe. Just think of a concept – there’s probably already a cafe in Seoul just like that!
Pronto is an Italian restaurant, founded in 1988 by film director Rafi Adar (who just announced his departure from the restaurant). In 2010 Chef David Frenkel joined him to create a classic Italian cuisine combining mediterranean ingredients.
A while back we visited Nithan Thai, and wrote all about it. Today we share with you what’s going on in its backyard. BackDoor by Sunny is an Asian inspired bakery which is located, you guessed it right, right at the back of Nithan Thai. The bakery was opened a few months ago by Sunny Deri, one of the most esteemed pastry chefs in Israel today. Since our visit, though, Deri decided to leave due to “incompatibility with Nithan Thai’s chef” according to Time Out magazine (Hebrew).

Last September we spent four and a half days in Copenhagen. Even though we couldn’t get a table at Noma, Copenhagen is full of other culinary gems. This guide follows our trip through this fantastic city. While it’s not a complete guide by all means, I did spend quite some time researching online for an itinerary that includes a variety of interesting places, kitchens and activities. The gamut runs between cheap street food and Michelin starred restaurant.
